Overview
Corral Creek (#325): The out-and-back Corral Creek trail winds through open sage benches, crosses the 2007 Trail Creek burn, and traverses through dense forest to Uncle Johns Gulch. It is a fun and fast bike ride or easy hike.
Description
From the trailhead next to the campground, a small hill will get your heart rate up right away. Test your cornering ability out in the sagebrush where the sight lines are wide open and the trail swoops left and right and high speeds are possible (especially coming back down).
Meander out of the sagebrush and through aspen stands, and turn back once in a while to admire Bald Mountain ski area at the end of the valley. Enter a conifer forest where you'll encounter many small hills and very fast and flowing descents.
Be careful with the narrow "side hill" nature of this trail and be aware of two-way traffic. This trail sees quite a bit of traffic and can be "crowded". Of course, "crowded" for Idaho means that you saw someone else. Two-way traffic is allowed but there are many opportunities for high speed encounters. You could ride out on the road and take the trail back to possibly minimize problems. Remember, uphill traffic always has the right of way!
