Description
The start of this trail is off of the
Stack Rock Trail at the large dead tree. If you see the
Mr. Big turnoff then you have gone too far west. The trail descends down steep and loose switchbacks to start until you get down into Daniels Creek. Once in the creek bottom, the trail weaves down the drainage. The trail can get very narrow in sections with a drop off into the creek so watch your speed especially the first time.
Eventually, you'll come out on a maintenance road used by the power company. Turn right up the road for about a 1/4 mile and then bear left onto the trail. From here the trail will descend steeply and then climb to a flat and extremely rocky section. The next downhill can be rutted so watch your front tire. There will be a large dip and then stay left at the junction of Chukar Butte trail and again at the junction of
Peggy's Trail. Continue to stay left avoiding the old vacated route and up the designated hand cut trail up to Bogus Basin Road.
A permanent easement agreement was recently signed between the land owner and the city of Boise. This will result in some of the rutted sections getting some much needed attention!
