Northern Hills Recreation Association (NHRA)

The Northern Hills Recreation Association (NHRA) is a non-profit organization based in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. NHRA is governed by a volunteer board comprised of members from the Lead and Deadwood communities. Northern Hills Rec was organized to promote, develop, and operate high-quality recreational activities in the Northern Black Hills. The members recognize opportunities to promote and enhance an outdoor lifestyle in the region and the need for additional quality outdoor events.

The mission of the Northern Hills Recreation Association is to strengthen the Northern Black Hills communities through programs, services, and facilities which enhance personal development, promote healthy lifestyles, encourage community involvement, and foster environmental stewardship.

The Trails Committee of the Northern Hills Recreation Association is working to develop a diverse network of studiously designed, judiciously constructed and expertly maintained trails connecting every city, town, and point of interest in the region.
