This is one of the easier trails in the area with some fun alternate lines. Large portions of this trail are machine built and wider, allowing more room for error than classic singletrack.
Description
This trail is the primary access route from Beck Lake Park out to the BLM lands South of Cody.
The trail starts at the bridge crossing the canal. After crossing the bridge (when heading outbound) the trail is immediately to your left and along the canal.
This trail was completely rebuilt and realigned by Trail Source in the fall of 2015 to avoid private property and the lengthy sections of deep ruts. It rides like a mini-flow trail on the way down, yet all the features are designed to ride uphill as well. There are numerous alt rock lines to challenge even the best riders, but they are easily avoided by the beginner.
This nice and buff ribbon of singletrack climbs to a low point in the ridgeline. When you crest the climb you are treated to nice views of the mountains to the west of Cody and the South Fork Valley.
From the large metal barricade/gate in front of you, you can either head downhill, the
Red Snake Trail, or turn to your right and keep climbing into the
Red Light District.
