Description

This optional 3-mile loop splits off from Tashka Trail approximately 5.8 miles from the South Trailhead (calculated by a clockwise route). For ambitious users, Five Oaks extends the total distance of the connected trails to 15.3 miles. If approached from the North Trailhead (traveling counter-clockwise), Five Oaks Loop splits off from Tashka 4.8 miles from the trail.

This goes down to the lake and back up. There are a few twisty sections with sharp ups and downs where there is a large bench but mostly open and flowing. Several climbs but none too steep or too long. Going clockwise it seems to me that it is uphill all the way from the lake to the intersection with the Tashka Trail. Assorted rocks and roots. Certain times of the year the part by the lake may be completely obscured by leaves.
