Description

This three mile trail begins at the intersection of the Porterfield Hollow Trail with the gravel logging road on the ridge. Instead of turning left to return, turn right and continue on the gravel/dirt road. After a steep climb on rocks, take the left at an intersection and continue on this road to the top of the hill.

A steep decline with loose gravel here requires caution. Cross the Columbia Gulf pipeline (three lines) and continue on the gravel road. Continue across the Tennessee Gas/El Paso single gas pipeline. At the bottom of a hill, take the right turn and continue to an overlook of Horse Creek with a limestone glade on the right. Continue up the hill to the intersection with Airport Road. This trail may also be ridden in the opposite direction to connect to the other Ross Forest trails. There are several interesting singletrack trails off of this trail that need restoration.
