Trail is subject to a USFS seasonal wildlife closure from 4/15 - 6/20 to protect deer and elk during calving season
Description
This trail is MUCH easier to ride in the direction shown - east to west.
Start with exposed singletrack up lots of switchbacks. The riding is not too hard, but the switchbacks are tight and will be tough even for intermediates to make the corners. It's not that much vertical, but it's hot, exposed, and noisy due to the highway.
Once at the top of the climb, it goes through aspens along the top of a rock band and intersects with
Buffehr Creek Trail. Continue left and start the descent. It is very steep, and would be quite difficult to ascend. It's mostly smooth, though there are some waterbars to drop over.
Eventually you'll reach a nice creek, cross it, and continue a short way to an intersection with
Buffehr Creek Connector, where you can either end your ride or continue on to North Trail - West (my favorite section of the North Trail).
