The Bearlodge Mtn Classic Epic Course showcases the best riding in the Bearlodge mountains. Beginning at the Reuter Trailhead, a climb up the Reuter Springs trail and an ascent of "Bitch Pitch" will bring you to the amazing Edge trail. A flowing singletrack descent linked up with the Luge trail make the climbing well worth the effort. Climb up East Fork Quarry and Sand Pit Road. Then descend down the beautiful singletrack of the South Fork trail, followed by a climb up Ogden Canyon and the Upper Ogden trails. Finish with a descent of the Reuter Springs trail back to the trailhead.
This ride links up several short trail sections into one grand tour of the Sundance Trail System. Bring a map, look for blue diamonds with a bear paw and a letter for reference. The riding in the Bearlodge is quite difficult due to long sustained climbs that are rewarded with long sustained descents. Plan extra time than normal for a set distance until you are familiar with the area. The trail markings are minimal and riding in the Bearlodge will require you to do some route finding with a map. (Or use the MTB Project mobile app!)
