Baby heads on steep grades with ledges mixed in on the climb/descent, otherwise great fun.

Description

Blue Ribbon traverses the ridge east of Otero Canyon and can make a fine loop with that trail and G Nasty. The northern end of the trail climbs up onto the ridge and is quite technical with lots of loose stuff and other embedded rocks to make it difficult to hold your line. About half way up things get really nasty with a steeper grade and shelves thrown into the mix and no clear line to hold.

Once you're up on the ridge, the character of the trail changes dramatically. Curving trail through the trees and an open meadow take you to the junction with G Nasty. Then it's a short tight rocky spot followed by a gradual climb, eventually ending at a junction (more like the north end) of FS Rd 106.

While the northern bit of this trail is a real grunt, the southern half is great and the descent of the northern bit is not terrible though a bit bone jarring.
