Description
This trail is generally wider than singletrack but is steep in a couple sections and as you get closer to the top, the terrain is rocky enough that nearly everyone will have to get off the bike at points.
But the work is rewarded with a great view from the Sachem's Head platform at the end. There are no bike-able connecting trails from the platform, so you'll either need to ride back the way you came, or shoulder the bike for some hike-a-bike down steep rocky cliffs.
Both going up and coming down, you'll see one or two places where the trail splits in a Y. You can go either way and wind up in the same spot. There is one turn off the trail at about halfway that is sharper, going downhill/east. This is the white dot trail (though the dots aren't completely obvious everywhere) and you don't want to take this if your intention is to stay on the Sachem's Head blue dot trail.
