Overview
The trail is broken up into three sections: the
North Loop,
The Pines, and the
Southwest Loop and Spur. These sections form a semi-continuous trail of approximately 10+ miles of single/doubletrack that wraps around Eaton Reservoir.
Description
The trails are still being refined with portions seemingly recently dug. The newly cut portions are uncomfortably tight and twisty, likely intended for a fatbike.
Directions and signage have much room for improvement. There are green/orange markings on the trees in what could be assumed is the preferred direction.
For
The Pines sections, enter and exit are at the same location - once you enter, start by going to the left. For the
Southwest Spur and
Southwest Loop trails, it is a bit like a bowl of spaghetti with trails intersecting and branching in all directions. For someone who knows the trails, it could be a lot of fun.
The
North Loop's seemingly preferred entry is through the small open field - but look at the tracks at the intersections because some branches lead you in for a bit and then stop.
A
great deal of work is being done here with much effort being spent on the log/stone bridges over muddy portions. Like many trails in this area, the ups and downs are highlighted by tree roots at the tops and mud pits at the bottoms.
