Description

Bolt Mountain Trail offers a unique riding experience for the Rogue Valley. The technical, yet 100% rideable climb is difficult to find anywhere else in the area. There are numerous viewpoints on your way to the top but the summit offers a 360 degree view of the valley and Grants Pass. The descent is rocky yet flowy and has lots of grade reversals and curves to it. It is a good thing that a trail designed for proper drainage also happens to be a blast on a mountain bike because this trail was not built by mountain bikers. It is, however, becoming one of the most popular rides in Grants Pass for the reasonably fit rider who needs an adrenaline fix.

Parking: Park in the gravel parking area on the left at the end of Wetherbee St. The county park charges for parking beyond this point. The BLM is currently trying to come to an agreement with the county to allow access to the trail without parking fees.

To access the trail: Ride your bike downhill through the Fish Hatchery Park parking lot. Ride through the stone wall and follow the trail to the right. Cross the military steel bridge and follow this trail for a few hundred yards. It will shortly come out onto doubletrack. The singletrack will continue in about 50 yards on your left. From this point, there is only one way to the summit of Bolt Mt.
