“The longest trail in the area, following the perimeter of the park.
”
Deer Path Trail (White Blazes) is the longest trail in Deer Park at 6.6 miles and follows the perimeter of the park. To the north, you can travel unmarked trails to the route 80 scenic overlook. On the West side between Birch Trail and Barberry Trail you can travel down to the Allamuchy Pond Trail that travels North around Allamuchy Pond. On the East side of the park there are two connectors for accessing adjacent Stephens State Park.
The trail has some technical sections, mostly on the Northeastern side of the park, but it's still reasonably tame by Allamuchy North standards.
Well maintained. Took a benign fall about 1/2 way through. Veered off the path once to the Allamuchy Pond Trail. Finished up on the Lake View Trail.
