Typically snowy November-February. Fire closures in the summer are common.

Description

This trail starts out cruising but soon grinds up some steep climbs without switchbacks to get over a ridge. It then descends to FR530 with a large steel gate at the Kirtland boundary. Here it connects with More Turkey, or FR530 is a bailout that connects to FR106.

Best ridden north to south to access More Turkey.

Between the few lung-busting technical steps are smooth stretches of ponderosa forest. Getting to West Boundary, however, is no small matter.

Pretty trail in the early season! Not your typical Manzano chunkfest.
