Description
Enough climbs and turns to challenge the beginner. A good introduction to mountain biking. The trail goes through new-growth pine and older hardwood forest. Look through the woods when you are at the lowest part of the trail to see the lake.
$5 per car to enter the state park, and $3 per person to bike. Annual permits are available that offer substantial savings and are good at all Georgia state parks. Ask at the office for details.
If the office is closed, no bike permit is needed. Closing time varies by season, so please make sure it is closed before riding without a permit. Be sure to pay for parking at the self-serve fee boxes.
Beware of poison ivy in the summer. There is poison ivy all over Georgia, but this trail has more than it's share.
