Description
Double Jeopardy starts at the intersection of the main doubletrack access road and Lower
Shy Ann. The trail begins with very flowing, bermed turns, and just a few interspersed rocks. These technical trail features connect well and are all easily rollable.
Eventually, the trail pops you out at a "choose your own adventure" Y intersection. From here you can choose an easier route (right, or
Double Jeopardy Connector) or a more challenging route (left).
The left route has quite a few technical features: this section begins with a ledgy rock garden which leads into a wooden off-camber turn. Shortly after, the trails converge, and then diverge again instantly. To the right features wood boardwalks that carry you over large boulders. To the left is two more rock gardens with consistent ~2' drops.
These rock gardens lead into a righthand berm that pops you out onto super-fast, incredibly flowy singletrack. The trail then dives in and out of the woods as you cross open ski trails with breathtaking vistas of the Arapaho Mountains. The trail then takes one final dive into the woods. There you'll be greeted by well-built, fast berms. Right as you're about to pop out of the woods there is a blind jump to the left and a ride around on the right. Trust the trail builders on this feature, it's easily sendable.
Double Jeopardy finishes on very fast singletrack that contours along a ski trail. The trail terminates at the intersection with Lower
Shy Ann.
