Pine Street, the road that the trail ends at is marked No Parking along its entire length. When you finish the trail you'll need to descend Pine Street back to Como.

Overview

An amazing singletrack ride near Breckenridge, that goes well in both directions but is more commonly ridden southward to Como.

Description

The Gold Dust Trail (#698) begins on Boreas Pass Road and ends on Pine Street a mile outside of Como, Colorado.

The trail begins 10 miles up Boreas Pass Road from Como on the west side of the road at a post and brown carsonite #698 marker. The initial 1.5 mile descent from Boreas Pass Road to N. Tarryall Creek Road (Forest Road 801) is identified on USGS maps as "Old Boreas Pass Wagon Road". This is a fun, fast, loose and rocky-at-times.

Cross N. Tarryall Creek Road slightly uphill and continue on singletrack, cross a creek then begin a 2 mile section of incredibly fun flume trail. The flume section ends in a short descent to Park County Road 50. Cross the road and continue on singletrack near a utility pedestal, through the wetlands and across several timber foot bridges.

The trail climbs and descends technically for another 4.2 miles, finishing with a winding aspen singletrack to Pine Street. (Note there is a trail junction 0.5 miles beyond the foot bridges. Bear left at this junction, staying on the main trail.) Gold Dust Trail ends on the gravel Pine Street. Turn right and zip a mile down to Como.

Cold (40 F), wet, heavy snow. Wind at about 10-20 MPH. Trail was very water logged and slippery but easy to identify and well marked. — 15h 00m
