Description
Technically speaking (pun intended) this is Helter Skelter and Advanced Trig. The two should be ridden together in either direction and usually as a form of punishment. If you wish to test your abilities as a mountain bike, you must ride Advanced Trig.
Starting from
Center Road, turn left toward
Outer Loop and Helter Skelter. At the intersection with
Outer Loop there is a sign that says 'to advanced trig' don't worry about the sign, worry about your line as you continue downhill. The rocks are all you have to ride on and many are the size of tombstones. The trick is to not ride your brakes (especially the front) until you reach the creek. The descent feels a lot longer than it is and once you cross the creek stay right and power through a slight left turn as you navigate rocks and roots - this is where the real challenge begins and will not end until you exit Advanced Trig onto
Buddha but that is two miles away so stop thinking about that and watch your line.
The trails are narrow singletrack with scattered square rocks that test your skills and wheels. Most the trail follows the contour of the hill not far from
Outer Loop. Some riders who know the trail but are too out of shape to continue riding it, bail out onto
Outer Loop. Once you get to the last quarter of a mile of the trail, it enters a creek that is rideable even when there is water flowing.
I promise you that while riding this trail, you'll regret choosing to ride it and when you're finished, you'll want to ride it again.
