This 1.5 mile trail around Old Levi Mill Lake will make you think you're in the mountains in places.

Start at the narrow spillway bridge and traverse the dam. Once into the woods, you'll have a moderate climb up to the shelter. From here on, it will be a gradual downhill where you can take in the incredible topography of Poinsett State Park. At the junction with Hilltop Trail, continue downhill on Coquina where you'll traverse a few switchbacks similar to those you might find in the mountains. After crossing a bridge and some steps, take a left on Coquina at the junction with Laurel Trail. Here you'll cross a swamp over an old beaver dam. On the way back to the Ranger station, you'll have views of the lake on the left.
