This is a great choice when other trails are muddy, as its sandier composition tends to drain moisture and keep it drier than other nearby trails.
This trail is part of Ridge to Rivers Pilot program and access is now split into 2 user groups. On EVEN DAYS the trail is accessible to hikers, equestrians in either direction, and bicycles traveling uphill only. On ODD DAYS it is designated as downhill bike traffic only. Please check the calendar before you venture out.
One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Description
Hulls is a classic. You can ride up or down, but the ride up will be a bit technical if you want to avoid the hike-a-bike, particularly at the prominent obstacle in the middle.
The ride down is great. It's fast, yet somewhat technical, and it's easily accessible by riding up eiter 8th street or Red Cliffs/Crestline. A great after work ride!
Most of the trail has moderate rock gardens that you can just blast over, but still require you to pick the right line. There is one very difficult section in the middle consisting of narrow drops in the middle of a turn down a rock face. During late winter and spring there is running water in Hulls Creek along most of the trail.
