Description
Trail is two-way. Counter-clockwise might be preferable (for the fun/rewarding/flowing downhill at the end?). The choice is up to you.
NOTE: This loop provides access to the "Back 80" trail and other (future/planned) off-shoots, so you might not end up riding Fluvial as a full, continuous, uninterrupted loop.
If you choose to ride Fluvial clockwise, it begins with a 1.5 mile ascent. Initially you're climbing the eastern side of a creek valley before the climb veers away to the east, crosses a XC ski trail, and continues uphill. It's a bit of a slog, but you'll be repaid with a long gentle descent on the eastern side of the loop, and a relatively flat (overall) traverse brings you back to your starting point.
Riding counter-clockwise, you'll begin with an easy traverse across the southern section, then turn north and start a long but relatively gentle climb, before turning west....you'll finish your loop with the 1.5 miles of flowing, rolling, bench-up descent.
