Description
The Rocky Dell Trail is one of the original trails installed when the park was built in the 1940's. It is fairly flat and a good place for beginner riders. It has a lot of rocks, but is not very technical.
The Rocky Dell Trail can be combined with the
Koto Buki Connector Trail and the last 1/3 of
Denny's Trail to make a nice beginner ride loop (see the
North Park Beginner Pool Loop page).
To access this trail, ride towards the
Koto Buki Connector Trail from Pie Traynor Field. Make a right, cross the fire road, continue up the short hill and turn left into the woods. Pass the Skills Park on the left and eventually the trail ends at South Ridge Drive.
You can park by the Mccandless Shelter across the street from the North Park Pool Pumphouse and start on the
Koto Buki Connector Trail. To connect Rocky Dell Trail to the last 1/3 of
Denny's Trail, turn left onto South Ridge Drive at the end of Rocky Dell. Ride 500 ft before turning left onto the next connector trail off of the road blazed white with red dot. Follow this connector and you'll end up on
Denny's Trail. Continue to white with blue dot and come out into the Pie Traynor Field parking lot.
