Overview
The majority is all tight singletrack with only the use of a fireroad here or there to connect the trails, or add some mileage. There is no right or wrong way of going as it all flows together nicely for a great ride.
Need to Know
The
Core Creek Trail - Northeast Loop to the north of the tennis courts is marked with a white blaze, and the loop to south is marked with a red blaze. The blaze consists of a small red or white square piece of plastic nailed to the tree.
At the Duchess parking lot there is a bike repair stand with allen wrenches, screwdrivers, wrenches, tire levers and a pump.
Description
Park at the lot off Duchess and the trailhead right off the SW corner of the lot. Then stick left at the opening and cross over Park Ave. Keep right down the hill and back up hang a left on the fireroad around the gate and then right onto
Lower Brokeback. This is about 1.2 mile trail that will loop back around on itself.
A few bridges and a ton of roots will meet you across the bridge. Eventually across another fire road and up a the hardest climb in the park. Another fire road at the top of the climb and hang left down the fire-road for about 0.25 of a mile, hang right stay straight, then as the tree cover increases look for the right of singletrack.
The trail now follows the bank of Lake Luxomborg up a six-foot hill, and eventually keeping left along the Lake.
