Can be loose and dusty after it has been graded mid-summer. And, it often has lots of goat-head thorns in August and September - go tubeless!

Description

This trail is an interesting way to access Mt. Diablo from Alamo. The trail rises quickly above the freeway and follows a right-of-way between horse properties and estates until it hits Stone Valley Rd. The trail follows the road for a short distance then picks up again on the other side of Stone Valley Rd with 2 quick gut buster climbs (steep but short).

A steady, but mostly shaded, climb takes you to the top of the Roundhill North neighborhood. From there, there is a flowy singletrack into one of the most beautiful valleys on Mt. Diablo (just West of Macedo Ranch). Follow the poorly marked trail through the grazed valley to reach the Macedo Ranch staging area and parking.

Cross the parking lot to reach the Briones to Mt. Diablo trail and to access Wall Point Road.

This is a gorgeous, seldom visited canyon. It is hard to decide whether to pay attention to the perfect singletrack descent or the view.

You get a bird's eye view of some great neighborhoods

Some serious climbs, but the worst ones are fairly short. Overall a fun rollercoaster of a ride with a wide variety of views.

Very steep and not particularly well groomed trail. A very tough ride actually.
