The trail can be thought of in two parts, one on each side of the Trials Road trail that it crosses.

On the Davis side (western section), the trail has short stretches of elevation change and some turns that flow nicely at speed. This section is often ridden in the direction heading back towards Davis. In this direction, if the rider stays to the right on JoJo's Curve and Sherald's Shunt, the Beaver Creek Trail can be used for a return to the Davis parking area.

On the other (eastern) side of Trials Road , the trail has numerous short sections of (moderately) challenging rock gardens, exceptional beauty in places as it courses alongside yellow creek, and the opportunity to find plentiful blueberries when in season. This section joins the 3B's trail but it has been redirected and improved. At the terminus, Camp 70 road is visible and easily accessed to the left, or the rider can head up to the right on a gravel road towards the Canaan Valley Institute and loop back to the Trials Road trail junction.
