Description

From the Lyndale parking lot, follow the Lyndale/11th trail East. When the trail splits before heading uphill, take the trail on the right. This follows the river bank, occasionally dipping through culverts, passing through forked trees, and flowing over bridges.

This stretch of trail gets considerably sandy thanks to frequent flooding. Perfect for fat bikes, and skinny tires may want to wait until the trail is packed when the waters recede.

When you pass by a bubbling artesian well on the left, the singletrack connects with a doubletrack trail. Continue on this to the Highway 77 and old Cedar Ave. bridge.

The land on which the trail is located is actually managed by several organizations:
National Park Service -Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge

National Wildlife Refuge System, within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge
