Overview

These tight singletracks have you looping through this smaller patch of woods until you are so disoriented you won't know which way is up. This is a great way to make the area feel larger.

It is possible to link this ride to the trails in the Martha Deering Wildlife Management Area giving you more than enough trail to ride for a full day. These trails have been raked and maintained by the locals creating an amazing and ever-expanding trail system.

Need to Know

Park on the side of the road where the power lines cross at 12-36 Rayburn Dr, Millbury, MA 01527. Then head on Colton Access Road along the powerlines north about 0.3 miles until you see the trail entrance on the right. The majority of the trails can be found on the right side of the power lines however there are a good number of trails on the left side as well.

Description

The Colton Road trail system branches off the main gravel Colton Access Road that follows the power lines. Both sides have very tight singletrack. You won't be able to manage to average a high speed within this network because of how tight, rocky, and "rooty" it is. However, it is worth checking out if you're in the area and it makes for great technical training. There are a few wooden bridges.

It looks like someone looks after these trails and blows the leaves off during the fall. The network can be quite extensive, heading back as far as the Conin Brook forest area. At this point, the trails are maintained less and are meant more for hiking.
