Description
This trail is also known as "Boy Scout."
There are a variety of parking places to access this trail. It's plenty of awesome trail for a short ride hot lap, or a introduction to some of the more challenging GWNF riding. If you are looking for a logical step up from
Tillman West and
Narrowback Mountain Loop, this one is worth a try.
Conveniently located amongst several great trails to connect with, you can break up the road riding on the
Lookout Mountain Loop. Trimble can be ridden both ways, but we recommend you ride it clockwise. Pedal to the waste dump site at the foot of Todd Lake dam where there's a bridge and trail marker sign visible from FR 95.
The trail is off-camber and skinny enough to keep you honest with your steering game & speed management. The climb is entirely rideable if you have adequate fitness. Since Trimble is off-camber, the downhill side is a constant hazard to be aware of. Luckily, the downhill side of the trail is not too exposed for the majority of the climb. There's a false summit, with a short descent, before the final climbing section to the true beginning of the downhill.
Hold on for some fast, off-camber descending and a couple of exposed spots up high. There are plenty of terrain features, drops, roots, turns and FAST sections. This is a super fun and beautiful section of trail.
