Description

The Manana Trail ride starts on doubletrack just past the gate at the end of Komo Mai Dr. and climbs gradually in dense forest with a couple of steep, short climbs. The trail eventually narrows into technical singletrack with a lot of roots. Manana can be a bit confusing through here as the trail braids into a number of different lines. Keep to the most worn part of the route, everything eventually converges back together.

Stay left a major unsigned trail junction and continue steep punchy climbs to a ridge. The forest opens up here and you'll see great views all around. The ridge is just as challenging as the lower reaches of the trail. Rather than roots, you'll encounter water bars, steep ups and downs, occasional deep ruts and exposed sections.

Just over a third of the way into the route, you'll climb to an beautiful overlook in a grassy meadow. There's a bench here, making it a great place to take a break. This is the turn around point for the Manana Out and Back ride.

The second half of the route is extremely steep and challenging, making it a hike-a-bike for most.

Manana Ends at the Ko'olau Range Summit.
