Description

A trail that expertly follows the lines of the terrain. Great design combined with a favorable descent to ascent ratio that make SST a great trail. Throw in a slew of doubles, aggressive flow, a table top and a stream crossing and you start to get the idea of the type of fun you're in for. The majority of obstacles are rollable making this a favorite trail among riders of many skill levels.

The top third of SST is less frequently ridden as most riders prefer the longer (and arguably more fun) Golden Spike, SST, and Back Door descent. But, if you do start from the beginning, you'll be greeted by fun singletrack with the occasional stump booter before meeting the bottom of Golden Spike. From there, the pace increase through the trees with banked turns punctuated with doubles and gaps. A tabletop at Checkpoint Lima marks the 2/3 mark.

Towards the finish, the builders discovered a small slab of sandstone that makes a delightful addition to the trail. The stone signals a sharp turn to the left to keep following SST, or alternatively, riders can go straight and take the SST Spur. The first option is more enjoyable adding a few more jumps and a small creek crossing before coming to the Back Door trail.

If you go the SST Spur route, turn left along (the frequently overgrown) Power Line Trail until you get to the next ridge.
