Lower Skokomish leads through old growth forest paralleling the South Fork Skokomish River. Points of interest include the old LeBar Claim, Church Creek Shelter and Harps Shelter.

This trail is gradual to moderate and travels ~10 miles to the Skokomish Upper South Fork Trailhead. Additionally, the trail receives yearly maintenance and is in good condition throughout its length.

There is only one "out" on the trail, at the five-mile mark, which leads you back to the fire road. This can be a life saver if you do this as an up-and-back. This ride will take you longer than you might expect as there is a good amount of hike-a-bike. If you ride to the end, it deposits you onto a fire road on the other side of the river from where you started, making for a 21+ mile loop. The ascent listed in the description is just wrong. We did the up-and-back and the total ascent was around 3,200'.
