Description

Off of Hilltop Road, there is a small parking lot. On either side of this parking lot are trailheads for the Buzzards Rock Trail. To get to this trail, enter the trailhead to the south of the parking lot for Buzzards Rock. Once in the woods, go about 100' down the doubletrack, then take a left. This trail is known as Drugs but it's not signed as such. Once on this trail, there are no turn offs until the very end.

All the trails from the trailhead are pretty technical and all mostly downhill to the park. You almost have to pick your poison on how to get down. This trail starts of fairly flat, and a bit winding at the top. Then it starts going downhill and has a series of what appears to be log overs. All of these logs can be rolled for the less aggressive, but know the 3rd log over / jump has no backside to it, making a little harder to roll. Most people jump off of these logs. There is also currently a gap jump off of one of these jumps, so be careful. I would suggest you ride this trail at least once prior to hitting the jumps.

Following the logs, you'll come to a split in the trail. To the left is a ride around. The right leads you to a large rock outcrop, providing 40 feet of very technical rock riding.

Following this feature you'll get into some steep and tight downhills, eventually landing you on a ridge, which you ride downhill. Be aware of the drop offs to either side as the trail tracks to your left. At the bottom of this hill, you have a choice to go right, or straight. Straight takes you down a very steep incline (probably a 50' drop over about 40') right to the Grist Mill Trail. Just be careful, as you have very little space to slow / stop at the bottom of this hill, and the Grist Mill Trail is very popular.

In lieu of this steep downhill, you can go right, where you'll come upon some log overs (some multiple logs at a time). You'll eventually notice you are running parallel to the Grist Mill Trail. Eventually, you'll make a left down a short 3' hill right onto the Grist Mill Trail. This is the easier way down.
