Description
Ikes Peek is most commonly done as a climb to the top of the ridge to the Peek. This trail has stellar views of the city along the way as well. The climb begins on singletrack that is steep and often loose bench cut trail. This section of the trail places you on top of the rocky ridge. From here on you'll traverse along until reaching the top where the trail intersects with
Good Call and Ikes Exposure.
The terrain is technical and rocky and does include some short descents on the way up. The rock on this trail is very similar to what is found at the
Cowboy Trails so bring and extra tube. The trail has a Cowboy feel to it but is not quite as difficult. Some have referred to Ikes as Cowboy lite. This trail is not recommended for beginners due to technical features and steeper grades. Those wanting an easier route to the top should take
Good Call.
While most will ride this trail from the bottom to the top it is enjoyable in the reverse direction as well. Keep in mind that it will not all be downhill if starting from the top. Coming down will be physically demanding as you navigate the rocks and ledges and short climbs. It does flow downhill quite as well as
Menny Thanks but is a great way to mix things up on the ridge.
