This trail starts off of FS 641 and follows the ridge between the Anderson Creek drainage and the Lightning Creek drainage to Scott Mountain Lookout. It starts in ponderosa pine forest, heads up through the Douglas-fir and continues up to subalpine Fir. It crosses the Anderson Creek FS Road 668 and the Granite Basin FS Road 668B on the way to the lookout. Eventually, this trail provides access to Alley Trail.

Please note that there is no water source along the trail, so carry enough for your journey.
