Overview
This is Eagle Mountain's best kept secret. It is a great route in an area that is being groomed and developed for mountain riding.
Keep an eye open on the doubletrack for ATVs. They are usually cool, but it only takes one not paying attention to ruin your whole day.
Description
Start your ride at the elementary school for 1.0 mile. It is a nice doubletrack road, but well worth the ride, in my opinion. Once you get to the rock pile, stay on the main road for about a quarter mile. There is a track to the right that leads you through a gap in the fence. Follow this singletrack up the hill and across the road.
When the trail ends on the road, take it to the top of the hill for a gorgeous view of northern Utah Valley. Follow the ATV trail along the ridge until you get to the singletrack that drops off the top. The trail takes you down to the road once again.
From the road, follow it to the left (east) and continue on to the next segment of singletrack. This will take you through the burned section of the valley. Weave your way down the hill until you reach the road. Folllow it back to the turn off to make a loop, or take the road back to the elementary school to call it a day.
History & Background
This whole area was once used for shooting and paintball. As part of the city, it has been an area of concern. The area has been cleaned and improved by many within the community, including the mountain biking community.
