As the signage will warn, care should be taken during deer hunting season, particular in the early morning and later evening hours when hunters tend to be the most active. Hunting is allowed on TVA land (unlike the neighboring Warriors' Path State Park land) so it is highly recommended to wear high visibility clothing if riding during hunting season.

Description

The Wahoo Trail is the first mountain bike trail to be built on TVA land in the Tri-Cities, TN area. It is a beginner-oriented trail with the only significant challenge being a few short, steep switchback climbs.

Access to the Wahoo Trail is by way of Darwin's Revenge of the Warriors' Path State Park trail system. While Darwin's Revenge is a more difficult trail, alternate lines have been created on it to provide easier access to those specifically looking to access the Wahoo Trail. Wahoo connects to Darwin's Revenge at it's the closest point to the Interstate 81 bridge. As you turn on to Wahoo, you'll descend toward the edge of Patrick Henry Lake before a couple of challenging climbing switchbacks. After riding under the I-81 bridge and crossing a creek via a man-made bridge, you'll be greeted by a sign with information regarding TVA land use. You now have the option of riding this lollipop loop in either direction.

Most area riders tend to favor turning left to ride the loop in the clockwise direction. While this presents the greater climbing challenge through a series of switchbacks near the midpoint of the loop, most prefer the downhill flow awarded by this climb.
