Description

Lime Creek Trail is really two trails in one; the eastern half parallels the remote, forested Warm Springs Creek, while the western half descends 3700' of sometimes steep, sometimes chunky brake burning singletrack. These two halves of the Lime Creek Trail are separated by a very steep climb that is hike-a-bike for all but the strongest of climbers.

The eastern Warm Springs Creek portion meanders gently through the woods. It is good "Salmon-style" backcountry singletrack. The trail here does not get much traffic but is narrow and can be overgrown where it crosses meadows. This trail can be ridden in either direction when coupled with the Twelvemile Meadows or North Basin Trails.

The western end of Lime Creek Trail is generally ridden as a downhill part of a shuttle ride. It can be ridden as an out-and-back if you like steep and loose climbing. The upper end of this descent has tight and technical switchbacks in the trees. Once exiting the forest, the trail becomes chunky and full of "baby heads." The trail is relatively narrow and will test any riders abilities.
