This is a quick, fun trail through the old quarry, with several off-shoots to more complex trails. The trail is comprised of double wide hard pack, with some sections where there is loose soil over hard pack. Be careful on the few sections where old blacktop is deteriorating. Overall, this is a great flowing trail with some beautiful views.

There are several old abandoned buildings scattered along the route with several cellphone/radio towers at the end. there is a paved road at the end that connects to county road B near the Bethany Evangelical Free Church which is a few hundred yards from the La Crosse River Trail.

Vegetation often overgrows and hangs onto the trail at the beginning. Watch out for hikers, hunters, horses, etc.
