Description

The trail begins with an uphill climb on a dirt road (doubletrack). The road is rough and mostly motorcycles and ATVs ride it, so be prepared for some loose dirt and signs of rough use.

The descent just over the first hill and is quite steep. The road continues to climb again and heads further west. Two more short climbs and then it is a long descent on the northern side of a large open canyon where riders can see towards the Wellsville mountains.

After a cattle gate, the descent continues. Stay to the left near another cattle gate but do not go through it. The road here degrades and turns into a rutted doubletrack then singletrack as it passes by a water trough.

The last mile or so of singletrack is really fun but not for the faint of heart. At the end it opens into a coral, pass through the coral gate and onto the gravel road, head left and 300 feet back to the parking area and bathroom. The road portions are pretty straightforward, but the last miles has a lot of washed out portions that beginners may not appreciate.

Near the end of the dirt road. Don't go through the cattle gate, veer left down into the valley for the last 2 miles.

One of about three places along the dirt road you have to stay on the main trail veering left.
