Take Highway 3 North past the town of Acton. Take a right onto Oswald Road, which is located between mile marker 18 and 19. Continue 6.5 miles until Heag Road and take a right. About 2.5 miles farther is the parking lot and the entrance to the Acton Recreation Area.

The entire area is being developed through a partnership between the BLM and the local IMBA club, Pedal United. Trails continue to develop with the goal of turning the Acton Recreation Area into a mountain bike destination.

Tumbleweed branches off before you reach the parking area if climbing up Heag Road, which means it begins south, or below the parking area. Tumbleweed is an intermediate cross country trail that begins with a steep descent. There is only one spot that you might consider a bike portage, but even that spot can be ridden.

After finishing this fantastic trail, start pedaling back up Heag Road and hit another of the great singletrack trails here!
