Description

Use this trail as a final extension when riding from Snowmass to Aspen on the Government Trail, or as part of the Tour of Aspen valley floor paths and trails.

The trail's bench is an old road for much of its length, but the tread has narrowed down to singletrack in most places, especially through a rocky section. A couple of steeper swoopy turns midway through the trail are banked in a way that expert riders can choose to make the most of.

Note that the trail goes under the Tiehack (Terral Wade) Bridge at its southern end, and under the Highway 82 bridge at the northern end. Steeper sections at both ends drop down/ climb out of the Maroon Creek's undeveloped natural area. You'll encounter a combination of evergreen and cottonwood trees along the way.
