Description

The trail takes you around Herb Parsons Lake. Either direction is open though the predominate directions is CCW. The trail is relatively flat and the surface is hard-packed silt and clay. Please do not ride when wet.

The trail system winds through the woods, across creeks and past old homesteads. There are occasional log piles and plenty of rough roots to improve your handling skills. Some of the creek crossings will challenge beginners while more experienced riders will enjoy the small drops and tight turns. There are several loops as you work your way around the lake. You should take each of them.

The lake is managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. This is a no-wake fishing lake with boat ramp, small store and picnic areas. The trail is maintained by the local mountain bike community Mid-South Trails Association. The gates open 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset.

Pretty typical trail view. What's missing are the tree roots.
