Description

This trail has a love and hate relationship with a lot of riders, since it can either be a lot of fun if the trees have been cut out or kind of a slog if the trail crews have not been through recently. It usually sees a trail crew about once a year, so you just need to time it right.

The trail is a nice remote and true backcountry experience and worth checking out. This trail travels from the Ponderosa Campground to the Chinook Campground. The trail crosses a couple of small streams as it twists and turns along the bends and curves of the Sesech River. At times you'll near the banks of the river and at other times you'll travel high above the fast-moving waters. The trail width varies greatly along the entire length and goes from wide path to a narrow trail tucked in along a cliff face.

About 5 miles from the north end of the trail you'll come to the Loon Creek Trail, which will take you to Loon Lake. If you want to experience the trail, but don't have the energy for the full trip. Start at the Chinook Campground and then ride to the suspension bridge before making your way back to the campground.
