This track can be ridden in either direction but heading clockwise up to Wainui Saddle past the Rameka track turnoff is a nice option. While there are climbs and descents heading both directions, you'll get most of your elevation gain out of the way at the start of the loop if you head clockwise.

This track can be ridden in either direction, but heading clockwise up to Wainui Saddle and past the Rameka Track turnoff is a nice option.

On the ride up to Wainui Saddle, the track is quite wide but a bit rough in a few spots. From the saddle across the farm it transitions into skinny singletrack with a few slightly more challenging parts. The last section is the Golden Loop which heads up through some beautiful native bush. The track surface is really enjoyable here!

If you have the time and the desire, you can continue the larger loop onto the other side of the road that runs in to the car park.
