The Limestone Ridge Trail (also known as Loop 3) begins near the end of the Spillway Trail. Starting from any of the southern parking areas, follow the Spillway Trail across the creek and up and over to the overlook. Continue on until you reach the fence-line; at the intersection go right. The Limestone Ridge Trail starts here. This first section follows the fence-line south. Up and down small hills, back up to the top of the last sizable hill, then abruptly down a pretty sketchy rock stairstep descent littered with small pebbles up to baby head sized rocks that will keep you on your toes.

From this point on, you'll encounter lots of ups and downs in a twisty network of spaghetti-like trail built in and around several rolling hills with a few steep switchback climbs / descents and lots of rocks mixed in with the, sometimes, loose soil and, sometimes, hard pack trail. The trail continues in and out of drainage chutes, roots, between cacti and a couple of areas out in the exposed open limestone gravel areas.

Coming to the end of this trail, you'll have two quick downhill line choices off the top of the hill. They are both semi-steep and loose, bringing you out to an open gravel area. Follow the natural trail markers out then take a right onto the doubletrack maintenance road just above the creek crossing. Go left and down to go back across the creek, or straight ahead then back up the spillway climb.
