Description

This forest route heads along the north side of Frazier Mountain from Forest Route 8N04B. This forested, mountain doubletrack is a retreat from the urban masses of Southern California. You can ride this route and have a cooler, shady summer day with views down to Cuddy Creek and ending with an expansive view of Hungry Valley below.

This trail is ridden as an out-and-back and heads north and then east, mostly downhill, which is nice if you just came up Frazier Mountain Road (Forest Route 8N04) to the fire outlook. Be cautious, though, as the trail is mainly uphill back to the top, or use the Frazier Mountain Cutoff, approximately one mile before the top, back to Frazier Mountain Road (Forest Route 8N04).

The routes on Frazier Mountain are usually not very busy and you can spend a weekend exploring around Frazier Mountain and Mount Pinos.
