Description
Heading east out of the new parking lot on Jenkins Road, take the first right onto the singletrack to follow
Root Ball. Before long, take a left onto an unnamed trail (here referred to as
Harold Parker Trail), which will take you north to the
Yellow Diamond Trail. At this intersection, turn right and follow the
Yellow Diamond Trail for a little less than a mile. Turn left onto Road NA17 then take an immediate right onto Road NA16 to a junction with the
Acorn Trail. Take the
Acorn Trail west to the junction with Upper Salem Pond Road and head south and west on the
NRT.
About 2.6 miles into the ride, the
NRT rejoins the
Yellow Diamond Trail. Take a left on the
Yellow Diamond Trail (you'll need to ride a short distance on Salem Pond Road). Follow the
Yellow Diamond Trail along the banks of Salem Pond to where the trail closes its loop. Turn left to head down either an unnamed singletrack or Bradford Pond Road, before veering right back onto
Root Ball.
Take
Root Ball all the way back to the start of the ride, crossing Berry Pond Road and passing the parking lot to jump onto
White Rabbit Trail. Take
White Rabbit Trail north past the swamp to its end at the junction with
Bay Circuit Trail. Turn right on
Bay Circuit Trail to its junction with
Berry Pond Trail onto which you'll turn right and head south. Take a right to take the short connector to rejoin
White Rabbit Trail and head south back to the parking lot.
This is a great afternoon/evening ride with plenty of challenges available for riders of all skill levels. This can be a pretty technical ride, and riders will need to be able to navigate an abundance of rocks and roots. Beginners/intermediates will surely need to walk some sections, but overall it is an excellent challenge.
