Description
Old Four Mile Road Trail is part of the
Babbish Gulch trail system just west of
Sun Mountain Resort. Various singletracks branch off to the south of Old Four Mile Road Trail. In the winter, the area is used extensively for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and fat biking.
Sun Stables runs trail rides out of the area in the summer.
Old Four Mile Road Trail connects the west end of the
Sun Mountain Resort parking lot with another trailhead further up the current Four Mile Road. The trail itself is a doubletrack that is sometimes steep. Nothing special in itself, but you'll likely use at least part of it when you ride the
Babbish Gulch trails.
Starting at the
Sun Mountain Resort parking lot,
Dipsy Doodle Extension goes off to the left at 0.6 miles.
Babbish Gulch trail itself is at mile 0.8 near an old cabin.
Williams Connector veers off to the left at mile 1.1 just before you reach the upper parking lot.
During the summer,
Sun Stables blocks the east end of the trail at the
Sun Mountain Resort parking lot. If you find that closed, there is another access point about 25 yards to the east. It sidehills up the hill to an old trailer. Turn right at this point and follow a short singletrack until you meet up with the Old Four Mile Road Trail again.
