Trail is flat and wide on top of the mountain, and also at the bottom of the mountain. However, the downhill sections are best suited to intermediate riders (young and old). Use common-sense.
Description
Riding from the Sugarcamp Mountain Trailhead, enjoy long-distance views toward WV and VA, while riding on flat, wide trails. After a mile or so, the trail goes over the mountain toward Dewey Lake and Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. The descent is wide, but can be steep in places so use caution and dismount if unsure in those sections. Intermediate riders should turn onto the
Fern Gully Trail to enjoy this technical, twisty trail that rejoins the Multi-Use Trail further down the mountain.
After reaching the bottom of the mountain, the Multi-Use Trail parallels Lake Road for about a mile, and deposits the rider right at the
Arrowhead Point Trailhead. This lower section was previously known as the Beginner Loop, so it is a great place for kids and adults to get acquainted with off-road riding.
