The trail starts at a right hand corner on Miner's Creek Road two-tenths of a mile from the parking lot. Somewhat confusingly, there is only a sign post for the East Meets West (FS Trail #9042) at the entrance to this trail. They both share this intersection with Miner's Creek Road.

To continue on the Iron Springs Trail: immediately after leaving Miner's Creek Road bear left and follow the twisting singletrack northeast.

After a short forested section, the trail opens up and you'll see the hospital, and bike path to your left. After four-tenths of a mile, the trail turns uphill, heading away from the hospital. You'll reach a fork in the trail with no sign. Bear left and ride through a grassy field before heading up a short, steep doubletrack that meets the east end of the East Meets West (FS Trail #9042)

The East Meets West (FS Trail #9042) will appear as a sandy flume trail heading to your right. Also, at this intersection, the trail continues as a doubletrack called Iron Springs Road. Due to a Hwy 9 re-route, this road has been shortened considerably.
